EVOLUTIVE TASTING BY ANDREAS LARSSON (Best Sommelier of the World 2007)
CHATEAU LALAUDEY 2006
TASTING IN FEBRUARY 2008:
Intense young purple colour, a bright nose of dark berries, cassis and some spicy oak. The palate is young and tight with a very good freshness, well built albeit young tannins, some oak noticeable on the palate as well, this needs time, good potential.
TASTING IN AUGUST 2008:
Plenty of dark fruits, slightly more expression on the nose, some new oak, spices and leather, the palate is well balanced with crispy dark fruit, less oak on the palate, good length, still young but fairly approachable, will gain more from ageing but could be enjoyed after some aeration.
TASTING IN JANUARY 2009:
Earthy aromas, damp earth, dark fruits, plums and leathery aromas, slightly more complex, the palate is much more harmonious, still young and dense with a good grip, and plentyof dark fruit, firm tannins and a long finish, quite nice to drink after some aeration, will still gain some more complexity.
CHATEAU LALAUDEY 2007
TASTING IN JULY 2008:
Very bright and intense purple, young nose showing some raw fruit, oak and some spicy notes, the palate has a good structure, well balanced tannins, more on the light and elegant side with delicate fruit, still just too young, it will take some time for the nose to open up and the palate to settle. However this will highly likely be a pleasurable and forward Bordeaux with nice dark fruit and classical freshness within the coming 3-4 years.
TASTING IN JANUARY 2009:
Very inky dark purple colour, the nose is young and vibrant with plenty of dark fruits, new oak, spices and leather, needs some time to settle, the palate has a good concentration with firm tannins and a very good length, still in its very young phase, it needs time to come together, good potential.
